Come join our Camp- In!

Picture
Ladies, We have set the date for the first Camp-In at GSNEO Macedonia for Thursday June 9th (anytime after say 6:30 or so)to Friday morning June 10th. We feel the camp-in will be more effective if we are there in the morning when Daisy and staff arrive for work. So..... Here are some guidelines: KEEP IT SIMPLE Tents only-  NO Campers/ Trailers All girls must be accompanied by an adult, either a troop leader or parent. If parents are coming with their daughters, PLEASE make sure they KNOW and ABIDE by these guidelines. All girls must have proper permission forms/ health forms, and adults should bring a completed health form. (just in case of a medical emergency!!) We NEED to practice “Leave No Trace” camping practices!! When we leave, no one should be able to tell we were there!!! So..... KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!!
What to bring (not necessarily a complete list) Tent Ground Cloth Sleeping pad Sleeping bag pillow (opt) folded fleece/ sweatshirt ? couple of lawn chairs cooler with no-cook ready to go meals( dinner, snack, breakfast, beverages) (or patronize local eateries- a chance to mingle with community and advance our cause to ‘Save Our Camps!!’ swaps activity or game for ???  girls (we’ll give an estimated count of how many) ‘signs’ relating to ‘Save Our Camps’  (Please keep them ‘tasteful’. This is a peaceful protest.) (Use the Promise and Law,  ethics, ‘WE are GSNEO- {not the board of directors} ) trash bags for your troop’s trash!!! containers to RECYCLE ALL plastic, cardboard, etc.!!!   We are trying to show the Board and Daisy that we do not WANT or NEED these Premier Camps/ Leadership Centers So.....   What NOT to bring Radios screen houses/ picnic tables queen size inflatable mattresses ( I realize some of you may NEED some sort of inflated bed. Please keep it SIMPLE!!!) pajamas –  please wear something you can sleep in!! (We’ll just be packing up in the morning and going home!) candy, juice box straws, etc. that are individually wrapped (it is SO hard not to make litter with those individual wrappers!!!!)     We hope to have a variety of activities for the girls (please let us know if you can provide an activity) Also we will need at least a couple of port-a-pottys. Does anyone have access to anyone who can provide these at a reduced cost??? Just FYI, I hear they are about $100.00/ day (we may  take up a collection to reimburse whoever pays this if we have to pay full price.) We plan to have a sing along with maybe a lantern or two (rather than a fire) Any other suggestions are welcome.   *Please NOTEThis list of Guide lines is subject to change.*
